It was one of those nights that made one glad that they were indoors. The wind howled around the old building and rattled the bars on the windows. The rain hammered down in thick sheets sounding like bullets impacting the roof and walls. As Lizzy stood and looked quietly out the window into the dark night a flash of lightening suddenly and briefly illuminated the somber grounds of the asylum. Lizzy jumped back suddenly with a gasp, her hand flying to cover her mouth to stop the scream she had nearly let out.
Rafael stood still as stone in the dark grounds, looking up at the quiet Asylum in front of him. He had business here tonight, there was great evil in this building. So great that Rafael had been called down from heaven to stop it. However he had not been told what or who the evil was, it was very powerful and had clocked itself from him. It was close though, the angel could feel it.
Dr Samael was in his office when he felt it, it was like a sudden and unexpected punch to the gut. He had always known they would find him, that they would come. It was why he had already taken precautions to guard himself and his work from them. The office was pitch black and completely silent except for the howl and noise of the storm raging outside. Despite the darkness Samael could see every detail that surrounded him, his demon eyes piercing the blackness as though it was a sunny day. His eyes traveled over the grand fire place with the cold and empty hearth....
