The Order of the Midnight Sun
Name: The Order of the Midnight Sun
Age: Date Formed: 1643 Founder: Ronan Grady I
Class: Mixture
Style: A Military-esque Group, protecting innocent people.
HQ: The Order's London Headquarters, is the ancient BT Tower. They use this building for Gatherings, Meetings, and all round Get-togethers. The Residence building was once known as the Canary Wharf Tower, used for it's spaciousness. There is an underwater tunnel interconnecting the two towers, so Order members can get from their home to the HQ in no time at all.
Aim(s): The Order's aim is to stop lives being lost. They are there to stop innocent people suffering and to try and help those that need it.
History: 1618. Proud parents gazing down at a new-born baby boy. Ronan Grady I. He was raised in wealth and happiness, in a large manor house just off the West coast of Ireland. At but 13 years of age, Myles Grady, his father, died of TB. Ronan and his mother moved to England to escape the painful memories of their home. At 18, Ronan’s mother died. He went to live with his father’s brother, an MP of the day.
Age 24. Civil War broke out among Parliamentarians and Royalists. Ronan was not on either side, and his Uncle often tried to persuade him and his cousin to join Parliament’s army. Ronan refused, and fled. A year later, He formed an organisation with the help of his cousin, Alexander Grady. The Order of the Midnight Sun. They learned to fight, and were both very intelligent. After a few months of scouting for people with intellect, old and young, They soon had over a thousand people in The Order.
By 1644, The Order had a HQ in every Capital city in the British Isles. London was it’s main HQ, in a huge Mansion left to them by an elderly member. So far, Ronan and Alexander were doing a bang-up job of protecting innocent lives, which is what they wanted to do ever since war broke out. In 1645, Ronan married a woman named Charlotte Pope, whom he had loved since meeting her.
1646. Alexander died from polio. Ronan was heartbroken, but had to carry on his work. He did so, scouting for members, protecting people, running meetings with his generals. Life went on for the young man. When the war ended, Oliver Cromwell became the military dictator until his death in 1658. Ronan had stood defiant against both Royalists and Parliamentarians, who despised him for it, but could not arrest him because he had done no damage, except for saving lives, which was not an offence. The Order remained a secret.
In 1674, age 56, Ronan died of an illness not many people knew about. It was cancer. Charlotte and their 3 children, Liam, 17, Jack, 15, and Maria, 14, were heartbroken. Charlotte died 5 years later. In his will, he asked Liam to take charge of The Order. He obliged, who in turn passed on the responsibility to his son, and so on.
